Changes coming to neurology service

The Veterinary Teaching Hospital’s neurology and neurosurgery service will begin operating at a reduced capacity in August due to changes in staffing levels.

The service and its team will continue to see patients and provide the same high level of care; however, the number of appointments scheduled per week will need to be reduced.

Neurology staff will still be available for phone consultations and to see and stabilize emergency cases, but after-hours MRIs and neurosurgeries will no longer be available. Patients needing diagnostic services may see longer wait times. In some situations, patients may be referred to other specialty centers if diagnostics are needed sooner.

Veterinarians are strongly encouraged to call before sending a case to WSU to ensure the best possible care is provided to patients.
