Biography

Dr. Sandra Diaz Yucupicio is an assistant professor in Equine Internal Medicine. Originally from Mexico City, Dr. Diaz Yucupicio earned her veterinary degree from Universidad del Valle de Mexico in 2017. Following veterinary school, she worked as an ambulatory veterinarian in Mexico. She then moved to California, where she practiced sports medicine and reproduction at Santa Lucia Farm. Dr. Díaz Yucupicio completed her first equine rotating internship at Chino Valley Equine Hospital, followed by a second internship at Kansas State University. In 2024, she completed an equine internal medicine residency at the University of Illinois, where she also earned a master’s degree. Her special interests are neonatology, gastrointestinal disease, and respiratory disease.
